No, Verizon, this is not important.

Behold what met me at the mailbox when I got home today.

It is a mailer from Verizon saying, on the outside, that they have some important info about my account. It's sent in one of those forms where you have to rip the perforated strips off the sides to open it, kind of like maybe they are sending me money? Has something happened to my service? What is so important?

I can has FIOS. That's what they wanted to tell me. Again. Like I missed the door-to-door salesmen whom I told to stop coming by and the montly mailings that I now automatically throw out.

I don't want FIOS. Call me crazy if you want, but there it is. I like the idea, but I've heard too many horror stories, and have even had one of my own concerning DSL, and I'm happy with Road Runner, who have been really good to me, and, unlike Verizon's marketing team, Road Runner can spell my name right.

I believe that Verizon's marketing team have just stepped over the line. They have just flunked adulthood, and need to go back and sit on their mothers' knees, and listen to the story about the boy who cried wolf.
