My work-issued blackberry rang last night. When I answered, the lady on the other end asked for Dominick.
"Who's Dominick?" I asked.
She started laughing. "I don't know. Just someone I was suppoed to call. Wrong number then?"
"Afraid so."
"Okay, thanks. You have a good evening."
After the exchange was over, I looked up the phone number reported by the call ID using Google. It turns out that this number belongs to a collections agency. Most of the posts about this across the Internet talk about how rude these people are, but I suspect that people aren't taking the light-hearted approach to it.
Lighten up, people! Remember, that's just a human being on the other end of the phone, and, given what they do for a living, they can probably use a good laugh.
